Why we chose Hot Rocks:
With a capacity of 250, the open plan upstairs space of Hot Rocks sits at the entrance to Bournemouth pier and offers a near wrap around view of the town’s seafront and beaches.
The outside upper terrace boasts a large balcony, while inside classy decor and a state of the art Void acoustic sound system is there to welcome you as you climb the stairs to the bar and dance floor.
Owner, John Green and the team are excited to have the venue as the central hub for the weekender. As well as being the opening event venue, Hot Rocks will also serve as collection point for weekend passes, whilst day tickets can also be purchased and event programmes collected.
Hot Rocks opens its doors at 10am on Friday 1st May to welcome you to the hub of the weekender and is the official Vocal Booth Radio venue. You’ll be entertained during the daytime by a host of the finest selectors, sharing music across all genres and into the night by Vocal Booth Radio DJs and our international headline DJs.

Hot Rocks Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge has been a Bournemouth institution since 1997.
In that time, we’ve seen a few others come and go, but this one’s staying.
Born from a love of surf culture, great food, and even better people, Hot Rocks has always been about more than just a meal and a drink. It’s about connection, community, and making memories by the sea.
So, when Bournemouth Soul & House Weekender came knocking, we opened the door, handed them a cocktail, and said yes before they’d even finished the sentence.
We’re proud to be the central hub for this brilliant four-day celebration of music and good vibes, encompassing many other fantastic independent venues in Bournemouth.
From the 1st – 4th May, you’ll find us right in the thick of it.
We’ll be hosting events upstairs as well as making sure attendees know what’s happening and where. In short, we’ll be doing what we’ve done for nearly three decades, making sure everyone leaves with a smile and a story worth telling.
